Sewer Line Repair and Restoration
When a sewer line blockage is the problem, we’ll often recommend hydro-jetting. Our plumbers will first perform a camera inspection to see the obstruction. We’ll then use a hydro-jet machine that forces water and air into the sewer line under high pressure. This approach can clear stubborn obstructions, including tree roots, without damaging the pipe. It even clears accumulation from the inner pipe walls and flushes it out of your system.
Choosing Between Trench and Trenchless Sewer Services
For more serious sewer line problems, we may recommend a repair or a full replacement. There are two core approaches that we can take: trench and trenchless. Trenching is the traditional method, where we excavate your lawn to access the pipe. Trenchless repair is a modern method that can restore a sewer line without digging. This approach is often less expensive and time-consuming. It also allows us to complete repairs or replacements without disrupting driveways, sidewalks, patios, or other hardscape features.
Types of Trenchless Sewer Repair
Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) relining is an example of a trenchless repair. CIPP relining involves inserting a resin lining into the pipe and then inflating it. Once inflated, the lining will cure, often in under two hours via ultraviolet curing. Once cured, the lining restores the inner pipe surfaces and fills in cracks and other imperfections.
Pipe bursting is another example of trenchless sewer line replacement. This is where we use a bursting head to disintegrate the existing pipe into fine particles. The fragments are harmless and can actually improve drainage around your line. At the same time, the bursting head equipment pulls a new sewer pipe into position.
